NORTH RONALDSAY - 2nd May

Rain overnight continued into the morning but it soon became showery and eventually bright and sunny in the afternoon; it was still very quiet across the island with birds at Holland first thing including a Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaffs, a Woodpigeon and a Collared Dove.   A Lapland Bunting at Kirbest was the highlight of the Brides census route while other birds included 10 Arctic Terns, 12 Great-northern Divers, 2 Knot with increased numbers of Purple Sandpipers, Sanderling and Turnstone and a single Dunnock.
