Another lovely day until a
band of rain moved in early evening as the wind turned into the west and picked
up; nets at Holland were quieter than yesterday as birds included 3 Common
Redpolls, a Whitethroat, 5 Chiffchaffs and 2 Blackcaps. The Hooking census route was also pretty
quiet with increased number of waders on The Links the most noteworthy feature
including 203 Ringed Plovers, 160 Sanderling, 200 Turnstone and 30 Dunlin while
the only passerine migrants were single Whitethroat, Willow Warbler and
Chiffchaff.
