NORTH RONALDSAY - 21st May

A horrible day with heavy persistent drizzly rain throughout the morning, a marginally drier spell in the middle and more wet weather in the evening; there was a Common Rosefinch singing in Holland on the way up but there was little in the Hooking census area with the Pink-footed Goose and Barnacle Goose on the loch where there was also a drake Garganey and good numbers of hirundines with 5 House Martins and 36 Sand Martins while good numbers of waders were on The Links.
