NORTH RONALDSAY - 11th May

Dry and bright with a brisk SE wind but the middle census route was still very quiet with an adult female Peregrine south over Gravity the only new bird (the first since mid-April) while other birds included a Sparrowhawk, a drake Garganey on Ancum where there were also 2 Pink-footed Geese, the Whooper Swan and 21 Bar-tailed Godwits and single Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff.

This pale Herring Gull stood out by the lighthouse in the afternoon
