A day of very strong
northwesterlies (last year’s predominant weather but surprisingly rare this
autumn!); the change in the weather produced a few more seabirds offshore
during the morning including a Great-northern Diver and 2 Kittiwakes in amongst
good numbers of Gannets and Guillemots.
The rest of the day however was remarkably
unremarkable with pretty much nothing of note apart from a Shoveler on
Vågsvollvåien – very disappointing for mid-September!
Nothing leapt in front of my camera on this very quiet day so here's a selection of birds I caught in Denmark last spring
Awesome adult Barred Warbler
First of two River Warblers
Bluethroat
Common Rosefinch
Firecrest
Greenish Warbler
Hawfinch
Lesser-spotted Woodpecker
Red-breasted Flycatcher
Ring Ouzel
Thrush Nightingale
Wryneck
