A dreadful day with heavy,
driving rain pretty much throughout with only a couple of half-dry moments to
enjoy; birds on the sea first thing included 2 Black Guillemots, 7 Red-throated
Divers, a Velvet Scoter, 3 Bar-tailed Godwits, a Grey Plover, a Ruff, a Tufted
Duck and a trickle of Gulls moving south.
It was predictably very hard work trying to get out into the area with
single Redstart and Spotted Flycatcher in Lebeltet, 20+ Wheatears and a couple
of very soggy Peregrines, Kestrels and Sparrowhawks looking sorry for
themselves.
I didn't take my camera out at all into the rain today so here are some pictures from Eilat last February to remind me of sunnier and warmer times....
