A miserable day, breezy, damp with very poor visibility right throughout the day; got a few nets open for some reason but inevitably I didn’t catch too much while other birds seen in the morning through the murk included the 2 Whooper Swans, 34 Grey Plover, 216 Dunlin, 3 Ruff, a Greenshank and the 1cy Little Gull which reappeared in the bay.
I didn’t do too much through the rest of the day as it was pretty grim but the days highlight came late on as a 1cy Caspian Gull came into the bay with the usual build-up of other gulls just before dusk where some big counts comprised 919+ Herring Gulls, 42+ Great Black-backed Gulls and loads of Corvids with 561+ Hooded Crows and 115+ Rooks counted.
