After a couple of early showers it was a fine, sunny day with light winds; it was perhaps, too nice for the nets which contained the usual spread of Goldcrests, Chiffchaffs, Robins etc.
There was though, a good selection of birds overhead, all heading south in the fine conditions which included a flock of 13 White-fronted Geese, 4 Hen Harriers (which flew across the bay all together early on, two smart adult males and two ringtails), 2 Sparrowhawks, a male Merlin, a Peregrine, 2 Grey Wagtails and 2 Hawfinches while a new 1cy Little Gull was floating around the bay.
A walk round the point in the afternoon was quiet with just a Short-eared Owl and a Wheatear of note while there were now 12 Little Grebes by the Marina.
A look out across the bay in the evening then produced 2 Little Grebes, 2 Spotted Redshank still, the Little Gull still, 970+ Barnacle Geese and c400 Cranes.
