NORTH RONALDSAY - 7th June
Another
wet start but most of the rain had passed through by mid-morning leaving a
cold, overcast, windy day and there was a Spotted Flycatcher up the road and 3
Grey Plover, 4 Knot and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits in the bare field south of Holland
as I walked up to carry out the Hooking census route. The highlight on census was 2 Red-backed Shrikes – females at the
Post Office and at Holland as other birds just included a Willow Warbler at
Holm, 7 Sand Martins over Hooking, 40 Knot which flew north up The Links where
there were also 55 Sanderling and 8 Collared Doves and the Woodpigeon at
Holland.
