NORTH RONALDSAY - 15th June
A
breezy start with a few drops of rain but most of the day was warm, sunny and
calmish; birds around the middle census route included probably the same Curlew Sandpiper on the beach at Westness
along with single Whimbrel and Bar-tailed Godwit, 25 Sanderling and 15 Dunlin
and an unseasonal Redwing in Ancum Willows.
I also found a Sedge Warbler nest in Ancum with six eggs and ringed a
couple of Oystercatchers and Lapwings around the place before the Black-throated Diver was again in
Nouster.
