Overcast with a brisk westerly breeze bringing with it
spells of rain and drizzle; a two hour seawatch first thing produced the first Sooty Shearwater of the autumn along
with 56 Manx Shearwaters, 17+ Storm Petrels (although it was hard
to count them as they flitted backwards and forwards past the hide), 4 Common
Scoter, a Great-northern Diver and a good total of 861 Puffins with plenty of other Auks.
There
was little else really through the day as birds in the Obs census area included
the Black-throated Diver again, 17
Bar-tailed Godwits, 8 Knot and 2 Collared Doves.
Black Guillemot
