A decent day with light winds but overcast with a few
spots of rain in the afternoon; nets first thing produced the first Marsh Warbler of the year along with a
new Blackcap while the Black-throated
Diver was again in Nouster before we headed out for another wader sweep
during which we ringed some Redshank, Curlew, Oystercatcher, Lapwing,
Black-headed Gull and Snipe chicks.
I
then had good views of the Ortolan
Bunting again near the road by Ancum Willows before the northern census
route was quiet with lingering waders the highlight with 120+ Knot, 40+
Sanderling and 13 Bar-tailed Godwit around Bewan.
