Calm and overcast first thing but this degenerated into a long spell of fine, persistent drizzle that eventually forced us to close the nets at Fågelsjön early; there were a few birds in caught before the closure with good numbers of Reed Buntings again along with a late Marsh Warbler, 2 Blackcaps, a Willow Warbler and 4 Chiffchaffs the pick.
A range of other bits seen included 2 Bluethroats seen along the path at first light, 5 Whooper Swans, a Spotted Redshank flying around, a Great White Egret, a Sparrowhawk and the odd Meadow Pipit, Brambling, Chaffinch, Redpoll and Siskin overhead.
A walk along the ‘Moose Road’ in the evening produced good views of a couple of Moose, a flock of 5 Parrot Crossbills over, a big flock of 248+ Taiga Bean Geese in stubble fields, a decent total of 15 Mistle Thrushes and a Grey Wagtail overhead.
