Overcast and pretty windy through the morning’s ringing session at Rysjön but we managed a good number of birds although the total didn’t include many highlights and was again dominated by Siskins; birds caught included 6 Dunnocks, 2 Blackcaps and a Chiffchaff.
Other birds seen included 3 Little Grebes, a Slavonian Grebe, 2 Great-crested Grebes, 94 Barnacle Geese, 12 Taiga Bean Geese and a Goosander on the lake, 4 Great White Egrets, a ringtail Hen Harrier in the distance, 2 White-tailed Eagles and a Yellow Wagtail.
A walk in the evening over to the eastern part of the reserve to the edge of Sörön was highlighted by a RED-THROATED PIPIT over Åslaholmen along with 2 White-tailed Eagles and 8 Wheatears on a ploughed field.
