A cloudy and still day
with foggy drizzle coming and going throughout; another 855 Common Gulls went
north along with 10 Red-breasted Mergansers and a single Bar-tailed Godwit with
a group of Curlews while overhead, the highlights were single Grey Wagtail and
Brambling.
The
highlight in the nets was a smart adult male Mealy Redpoll before a walk round
the coast produced a flock of 22 Golden Plover, a single Wheatear, a Merlin and
at least 65 Linnets heading NW while there were small but noticeable increases
in Meadow Pipits, Blackbirds and Song Thrushes through the area.
