Blazing
force 8 North-westerlies for most of the day limited activity throughout; the
sea was very quiet first thing with a Red-necked Grebe the only thing of note
although a few Common Gulls seemed keen to head off into the wind but they
spent an equal amount of time flying south backwards again! A flock of 5 Bar-tailed Godwits flew through
Vågsvollvåien late morning and there were a few more birds sheltering in
Listahavn during the afternoon including 7 Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Velvet
Scoter, 4 Long-tailed Duck and the smart summer plumaged Great-northern Diver.
