Cloudy and still
conditions meant it was a perfect morning for netting - apart from the almost
total lack of birds! The White-billed Diver was again obvious on
the flat calm sea along with 8 Great-northern Divers and 3 Red-necked Grebes
while 40 Oystercatchers and 35 Red-throated Divers went north and the two White-tailed Eagles flew south.
A little bit of drizzly rain at lunchtime seemed to
produce a few birds across the area in the afternoon including a massive
increase of 110+ Meadow Pipits, 2 Wheatears, a Lapland Bunting at Fuglejønna, 5 Siskins and a Redpoll sp. over, 19
Linnets, a Reed Bunting, 13+ Pied Wagtails and an increase to 70+ Rock
Pipits. There were also improved
numbers of other things with 21 Ringed Plovers, 22 Teal and a flock of 22 Snipe
which flew past me on Seviksmarka.
