Nice again, after overnight rain with the light wind back
in the west; birds around the Hooking census route in the morning including a
big influx of 95+ Redshank, 425 Golden Plover (split with flocks around the
island), a Heron, 2 Wigeon, 13 Teal, 38 Sand Martins, 9 Sanderling and 3
fledged Common Gulls at Scotsha while the Black-throated
Diver was again in Nouster.
With
a lot of the Arctic Tern colonies now failing they are starting to gather in
big numbers on the rocks at Bewan with 700+ birds present in the afternoon
including big numbers of 1st summer birds.
