NORTH RONALDSAY - 4th July

Glorious throughout the day – warm, sunny and calm with the nets at Holland first thing just producing a couple of Swallows and some baby birds before a walk round the northern census route just saw some more wader counts including 300+ Golden Plover, 38 Bar-tailed Godwits, 13 Knot and a few smaller non-breeding flocks of Oystercatcher, Lapwing and Redshank.   There was the first fledgling Common Gull at Ancum along with 19+ Sand Martins.
