Not quite as bad as yesterday afternoon as the blazing
westerly wind was very slightly lighter but it was still very hard work to be out and
about in; the northern census route was largely unremarkable with 2 Snow
Buntings, 9 Redwings, a Great-northern Diver, 7 Gadwall and a Whooper Swan of
note.
The
drake Green-winged Teal was again on
Gretchen in the afternoon (I’m not sure if it does disappear off island or just
hides well in the ditches behind the loch) where there was also 2 Sandwich
Terns and 390+ Golden Plover.
