NORTH RONALDSAY - 3rd April

An increasing southerly wind limited mist-netting at Holland but around the gardens there were 5 Woodpigeons, a Chiffchaff, 2 Goldcrests and a Robin; highlights along the west coast afterwards included awesome views of the Northern Harrier as it caught a Rabbit on the airfield and now 8 Sandwich Terns with 6 on Gretchen all paired up and looking all expectant.

Other migrants up the west coast included 7 Black-tailed Godwits flying over Gretchen, a Rook over the Obs, 4 Wheatears, a Chiffchaff, another Woodpigeon in off the sea, a female Sparrowhawk, the young male Merlin, 6 Fieldfares, 3 Redwings, a Goldcrest and an extra Raven which also came in across the sea.

The Northern Harrier showed well today!
