Slightly lighter winds through the morning meant it was
far more pleasant out in the field with the Northern Harrier flying past the Obs first thing before birds in the
Bridesness census area included a Lapland
Bunting by the cattle grid, 19 Pink-footed Geese with Greylags near Howar,
11 Great-northern Divers offshore, 11 Redwings, 12 Wheatears, 9 Gadwall, 2
smart summer plumaged Black-tailed Godwits at Kirbest and 6 Woodpigeons near
Holland.
A
little twitch to Hooking in the afternoon produced good flight views of 3 Garganey (a drake and two females) in
the Irises – an overdue North Ronaldsay tick!
Eiders in the surf
Maybe you should check the wind before vomiting!
