NORTH RONALDSAY - 13th April

Overcast with the brisk SE wind continuing and heavy showers moving in by the afternoon; there was a sprinkling of migrants around the Obs census route through the day, highlighted by my first Ring Ouzel of the year at Kirbest and my first Blackcap of the year by T5 (both species were seen yesterday).   Other birds included single Chiffchaff, Brambling, Wheatear, Mistle Thrush, Goldcrest, Snow Bunting and Merlin, two each of Chaffinch and Dunnock, 25+ Robins, 30 Blackbirds, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, a Knot and 222 Golden Plover.
