A light southerly wind
first thing becoming westerly by the afternoon and picking up with frequent
spells of spitting rain; the highlight of the Brides census route was the Buff-breasted
Sandpiper still on the loch where
there was also the first Jack Snipe of the autumn, other birds
included a Redstart at Southness, a Garden Warbler at Kirbest, a good 155+
Snipe, a Kestrel, a Sedge Warbler, a Sand Martin, a Ruff and an increased 8
Red-throated Divers offshore.
