NORTH RONALDSAY - 4th March

An early start to carry out a whole island Black Guillemot count – which ended up on 669 breeding plumaged birds; I only had a meagre 26 birds off the exposed Bridesness section where other birds included 6 Pintail, 5 Red-throated Divers and 11 Shoveler.

The weather closed in during the afternoon but there was a Woodcock along the wall near Gretchen.
