A
steady morning at Rysjön with the usual run of juvenile Willow Warblers while
other birds included 2 Crossbills over, a Green Woodpecker, a Hobby, a calling
Wryneck and still good numbers of Swifts low over the reserve as it clouded
over.
Birds in the afternoon on the fantastic
looking Löten included a Temminck’s
Stint, 5
Curlew Sandpipers, 65+ Wood Sandpipers, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 6
Spotted Redshank, 18 Dunlin, 15 Greenshank, 20 Ruff and single Common Sandpiper
and Green Sandpiper but the highlight was a beautiful, pristine, super-fresh
juvenile Little Gull – a stunning bird, the
first of this age I’ve seen.
There was
then an adult White-tailed Eagle, quite a few juvenile Common Terns nearly
flying and a juvenile Water Rail on Hammarmaden.
