SPURN - 5th February

After a long and arduous day and night in Scarborough where the Black-necked Grebe was showing very well in the harbour along with a Peregrine on the castle walls and a few Fulmars back investigating the cliffs a walk back round Spurn produced 2 Short-eared Owls in the Triangle – fighting and calling to each other high over the Humber at one stage along with the usual waders and wildfowl on the incoming tide including 40+ Black-tailed Godwits.

Wildfowl totals on Kilnsea Wetlands and Beacon Ponds included a decent 547 Wigeon, 3 Gadwall, 2 Shoveler, 20+ Teal and 6 Goldeneye.

Little Egret

Redshank colour ringed last year at Spurn
