NORTH RONALDSAY - 21st February

Walked up the west coast which started off fairly pleasant, albeit still very windy but the weather deteriorated steadily with the rain and wind picking up to become constant by late morning; there was a nice little influx of white-wingers though with a second-year Iceland Gull and 4 Glaucous Gulls (3 first years and one second year) along the coast.

Other birds included a second winter male Peregrine, 2 Snow Buntings on Torness, a good total of 95 Purple Sandpipers, 6 Herons at Westness and the drake Green-winged Teal still on Gretchen.
