NORTH RONALDSAY - 19th February

Walked around the top end in the morning with the stronger winds and frequent showers making things difficult; the highlights were 6 Snow Buntings milling around and the long staying drake Smew on Bewan (a North Ronaldsay tick!) along with 5 Goldeneye, 11 Tufted Ducks and 6 Purple Sandpipers while offshore there were 4 Great-northern Divers, a Red-throated Divers and a few Gannets, Kittiwakes and Auks flying backwards and forwards.

There were 16 Bar-tailed Godwits, 8 Pintail and 8 Redwings around Ancum on the way through.
