A bit brighter in the
morning but the blazing strong, cold easterly wind still battered the area; the
sea was quieter as totals included 17 Red-throated Divers, 2 Long-tailed Ducks,
75 Common Scoter, 20 Velvet Scoter, a Black-headed Gull and 24 Razorbills. A look along the sheltered sides of the
plantations then produced the first Woodcock
of the autumn, a Short-eared Owl, a male Goshawk
and 20+ Bramblings.
The coast in the afternoon as rain moved in was quiet
and windswept with 5 Wheatears, an increase to 12 Goldeneye, 40+ Teal, 3
Kestrels and plenty of Rock Pipits.
Didn't take my camera out much in the poor weather but got a few grabbed shots of a Short-eared Owl I flushed
