NORTH RONALDSAY - 17th April
Similar
again but the SE wind was maybe a touch lighter than of late with largely clear
skies; the day’s highlight was a brute of a 2cy White-tailed Eagle which flew north over
Ancum, U-turned at Garso and flew back south and out towards Sanday. There were increased numbers of all the
common migrants without there being too much different in amongst them, my
totals from the Obs and the middle census routes included a Kestrel, 3
Black-tailed Godwits, 3 Woodpigeons, 4 Dunnocks, 41 Robins, 19 Wheatears, a
Fieldfare, 5 Song Thrush, 18 Chiffchaff, 2 Goldcrests, 3 Chaffinches, 3
Brambling and 4 Snow Buntings.
