A nice, sunny start with a
light but chilly easterly wind; the sea was very quiet, especially compared to
yesterday as birds of note included 2 Arctic Skuas, 3 Great-northern Divers and
a Bonxie with the pair of Gadwall still on Vågsvollvåien. The nets were also slow with a few Siskins
and Redpolls making up the catch; an immature White-tailed Eagle drifted over the lighthouse mid-morning as did a
Common Buzzard while a Cuckoo was singing in Lebeltet.
An Osprey
fishing over Verevågen was the highlight in the afternoon although 7 Whimbrel
and 150+ Swallows were its only competition before heavy rain set in
mid-afternoon putting an end to anything else!
