NORTH RONALDSAY - 8th July


A brisk westerly breeze with some mist, drizzle and murk coming in and out through the morning, I had a good seawatch from 09:00 which included 104 Manx Shearwaters, 4 Sooty Shearwaters, 2 Storm Petrels and 768 Puffins in amongst big numbers of birds feeding offshore, most notably 23+ Arctic Skuas (although it was impossible to count them properly as they were shooting around all over the place!).


Some big Arctic Tern chicks were ringed at Sangar
