Other birds seen through the day (not that I put too much effort in!) included a flock of 7 Hawfinches which landed briefly in the garden, a couple of Waxwings heard overhead, 3 Red Kites, a Grey Wagtail, a handful of Finches first thing and 3 Little Gulls still feeding with much reduced Gull numbers along the shore.

GEDSER - 5th November
A dark, damp and dreary day where we just managed to get a standardized ringing
session in which produced 12 new birds including a group of 5 Northern Bullfinches caught just as a
long period of rain moved in late morning (there was a range of sizes amongst
this flock with wing lengths 88 – 95 and weights 24.5 – 33.0g; interestingly the
females were much bigger than the males, a trend that I`ve noticed in the others
we`ve caught this autumn).
