Nice and bright again but with a stronger southerly wind; there were a few
more birds in the nets through the morning as we managed 46 new birds
predominantly made up of 24 Common and 11 Lesser Redpolls but also included a
Sparrowhawk, a Coal Tit and another 3
Northern Bullfinches (the male was the biggest one yet with a wing of 99!).
There was hardly
anything overhead to mention with a smattering of Siskins and Chaffinches the
only things to mention. A walk around
Kroghage in the afternoon was predictably quiet with just a Rough-legged Buzzard and 8+ Scaup with
250+ Tufted Ducks on the pools.
