Nice and calm first thing which encouraged a little selection of passage birds overhead including 3 Grey Wagtails, 146 Meadow Pipits, 12 Chaffinches, 3 Greenfinches, a Siskin and a few Goldfinches and Linnets – although its tricky to work out which ones are actually moving a which are part of the ‘resident’ mixed flock on the point.
After just a couple of hours the wind picked up, knocking the vis mig on the head but producing a few seabirds offshore, highlighted by a juvenile Long-tailed Skua which slowly drifted south at 09:45 along with 2 Arctic Skuas, 4 Herons (south, far offshore), 3 Red-throated Divers and 17 Gannets.
