Overnight rain lingered through the first couple of hours of the day but as soon as it stopped, I headed out for a seawatch where totals comprised 13 Velvet Scoter, 22 Common Scoter, 25 Goldeneye, 4 Guillemots, 17 Razorbills, 7 Kittiwakes, a Black-throated Diver and 3 Gannets.
I didn’t see too much else through the day, despite being out and about but there was an epic count of 1,062 Hooded Crows which came into the pre-roost gathering in the bay in front of the house – these big flocks here are thought to be Russian and Finnish immigrants, not local birds, whatever the case I’ve never see the like!
