Lighter
SSW winds through the day but it was still blustery; the highlights were the
same as yesterday with the Hornemann’s Arctic Redpoll
still around Nether Linney and the Great Grey Shrike was around the south of
the island being very mobile and eventually finding a net in Holland. Other totals included 11 Herons, 3 Scaup at
sea off Torness, a drake Long-tailed Duck off The Links, a Red-breasted
Merganser, 2 Hen Harriers, single Grey Plover, Black-tailed Godwit and Ruff, a
Woodpigeon, 2 Short-eared Owls, 2 Grey Wagtails, a Dunnock, 32 Robins, a new
Black Redstart, 2 Redstarts, a Whinchat, 13 Wheatears, a Ring Ouzel, 21
Fieldfares, 47 Song Thrush, 180 Redwing, an Eastern Lesser Whitethroat still in
Holland, a Garden Warbler, 4 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff, 8 Goldcrest, 10 Chaffinches,
4 Brambling, 9 Siskin, 4 Lapland Buntings, 22 Snow Buntings and 5 Reed
Buntings.
