NORTH RONALDSAY - 7th August

A decent, dry day with an increasing NE wind; the first 2 Sooty Shearwaters of the year passed the Lighthouse and the first Peregrine of the autumn – a juvenile male, was over Phisligar.   Other little bits included a Heron, presumably the same two Garganey back on Gretchen, 18 Knot with an influx of juveniles, 7 Ruff, a Whimbrel, 2 Greenshank and the largest build-up so far of 205+ Kittiwakes on the rocks off The Lurn.
