NORTH RONALDSAY - 17th March

Still very windy in the morning with a bitter cold easterly bringing regular snow showers but it did brighten up in the afternoon and the wind did slightly ease I suppose; I walked round the coast in the Obs census route which produced 7 Mistle Thrushes, 2 Dunnocks, 4 Song Thrushes, 3 Robins, 3 Woodcock, 4 Woodpigeons, 6 Rock Pipits and 40 Fieldfares with 6 Great-northern Divers, 23 Long-tailed Ducks and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers offshore with the Green-winged Teal still on Gretchen.

Not too much else through the day with 12 Tufted Ducks, 3 Shelducks and 4 Pintail on Hooking the only other bits to mention.
