NORTH RONALDSAY - 16th March

Another dreadful day with the gale force SE wind bringing numerous and frequent hail and rain showers with it; looked at Brides and Scottigar at high tide with the Kumlien’s Gull still present along with further influxes of 107+ Black-headed Gulls and 90+ Great Black-backed Gulls but little else different to yesterday.

Walked the coast along the sheltered side up to the airstrip in the afternoon where there were a few birds hiding along the wall including my first Wheatear of the year (probably the same as the one yesterday), the first 2 Dunnocks of the year, 3 Song Thrushes, a Mistle Thrush, 4 Robins and a handful of Blackbirds; the Green-winged Teal was also still present.
