NORTH RONALDSAY - 10th March

A decent day but more cloud and a stronger easterly breeze than yesterday; a walk round the north end in the morning was pretty quiet with the Smew, 8 Goldeneye and 9 Pintail on Bewan the only real birds of note.   Working round the Obs in the afternoon there were a few birds with two Ravens in, high from the south, a female Sparrowhawk seemingly in off the sea at Gretchen chasing a Mistle Thrush and a ringtail Hen Harrier.

The Walrus was again on a beach across on Sanday but disappeared back into the water at around 09:00 and wasn’t seen again!
