17th February

After a weekend of heavy rain and strong winds I walked up the lane from Clunton to the top of the hill but not as far as Bury Ditches; it was nice in between the couple of showers that swept through with lots of raptor action highlighted by a big female Goshawk seen over the road along with 10+ Red Kites, 12+ Buzzards and 2 Kestrels.   Other birds included at least 2 Tree Sparrows with a small flock of Yellowhammers and Chaffinches in the stubble fields, 2 Crossbills over, 3 Siskins over and 28 Stock Doves.
