NORTH RONALDSAY - 1st March
A decent day, bright with an increasing SE breeze; a walk
up the west coast and back down the middle combined with a little drive around
didn’t produce too many new birds with the exception of 4 Ravens which flew
very high south and a few flocks of Skylarks heading south at sea. Other totals included the Eurasian White-fronted Goose, 3 Pink-footed Geese, 8
Gadwall, the drake Green-winged Teal still on Gretchen, 8
Pintail, the drake Smew still on Bewan,
139 Skylarks, a Pied Wagtail, 2 Song Thrush and the 5 Chaffinches.
