After
a night in Kirkwall, I had a walk around Inganess Bay near the airport where
there was a good spread of breeding birds including three very bright male
Lesser Redpolls crazily displaying, several Stonechat, Sedge Warbler and Reed
Bunting families, c40 Common Terns in the bay with at least six flying juveniles
and a Red-throated Diver in the bay which caught a fish and carried it off to
its chick somewhere in the hills.
