NORTH RONALDSAY - 3rd November


A brisk westerly wind made parts of the Brides census route were sheltered with good numbers of birds feeding in the surf at high tide including 112 Eider, 95 Common Gulls, 60 Purple Sandpipers, 80 Turnstone and 8 Rock Pipits.   Other birds included 2 Pintail, 4 Chiffchaffs, 5 Reed Buntings, 5 Herons and 3 Snow Buntings while as I was walking back I flushed a Long-eared Owl out of Holland.
