Had
a few days up in Lancashire but despite the good weather it was pretty quiet
with the highlight probably being a young male Peregrine attacking a big flock
of Knot right in front of us along Morecambe seafront at high tide. Leighton Moss was very pleasant in the
sunshine with several Marsh Harriers displaying high in the sky and another
pair already nest-building while Cetti’s Warblers and Water Rails calling in
the reeds (but unfortunately no sign of any Bearded Tits or Bitterns!).
Big, tempting flocks of roosting Knot
A fast and furious attack but a poor effort really!
At least he did a nice flypast after failing to catch anything!
