Spent the morning back
down in our newly discovered valley where the highlights were again awesome
views of probably two male Golden Bush Robins, the
male Himalayan Rubythroat, at least five Black-throated Accentors and two Rufous-breasted Accentors. A good selection of new birds were also seen
which included good views of a CHESTNUT-HEADED TESIA (an
incredibly ridiculous bird – tiny, bright coloured with no tail, hopping around
at your feet!), a male CHESTNUT-EARED BUNTING, a male GREY-WINGED
BLACKBIRD, a gloriously named ABERRENT BUSH WARBLER, a GREY-SIDED BUSH WARBLER, a GREY-CROWNED PYGMY
WOODPECKER, a RUSTY-CHEEKED SCIMITAR BABBLER, a few Black Francolin, Scaly-breasted Munia
and a few Rock Buntings.
We then left at lunchtime to drive a few hours over
to Corbett NP to arrive after dark.
