NORTH RONALDSAY - 30th July

Sunny and warm again with a light easterly breeze but the nets at Holland were quiet with just another new juvenile Swallow of note; a huge juvenile female Peregrine was also flying around the gardens, fighting with a Raven.

Had a little walk round the Brides census route where birds included a Wood Sandpiper and 2 Green Sandpipers on the loch and a Little Stint on the beach with 25 Sanderling, 30 Turnstone and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits.   The sunny afternoon was quiet with a Kestrel heading straight south over the Obs pursued by angry Arctic Terns.
