Still nice and sunny but
the southerly wind picked up through the day becoming pretty strong by the
afternoon; opened the nets first thing with the definite highlight being an
awesome female Nightjar flushed from the Flax corner
straight into a net, other birds included 2 Chiffchaffs and a Sedge Warbler
while a female Black Redstart was in the Kirkyard. The rest of the Obs census route was fairly
quiet with single Goldfinch and Siskin round the Obs and the pair of Garganey,
30 Bar-tailed Godwits and 2 Black-tailed Godwits on Gretchen.
